Why Is Providing Meaningful Feedback Important?
What is Peer Editing?
Peer Editing is reading over someone elses work and making any corrections that could be needed. Also it means to give positive and helpful advice on how this person can improve on their writing skills. Peer Editing can be a very uncomfortable process at first but in the end it is a very rewarding tactic.
According to, "What is Peer Editing?" there are 3 steps to peer editing.
Step One: Compliments!! When editing someone elses work you must always treat them as you would have them treat you. NEVER say anything to purposely put down another person. Only say POSITIVE things that can help them with their writing.
Step Two: Suggestions!! It is very important when peer editing to not focus on every minor thing. Your not there to just correct their mistakes, your also there to provide useful propositions on how they can improve their writing skills.
Step Three: Corrections!! Making corrections is the way you truly connect with the writer. It is when you can literally read what their mind was thinking. So when you make corrections be precise and accurate. Make clear markings so there is no question as to what you were saying.
According to, "Writing a Peer Review Top 10 Mistakes."
Peer editing should be a fun and helpful process for both the writer and the editor.
You should always remember the most important rule, Stay Positive! No one wants to sit next to a "Social Sammy or Picky Patty" so always be helpful and act like it is your grade that is on the line.
I agree! Sometimes, it can be hard to peer edit because you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings or come across as rude. The three steps really help me when it comes to peer editing. With those three steps, it can be easy to peer edit and be effective as well.
