In the video, " Using iMovie and the Alabama Virtual Library in Kindergarten," Dr. Strange is talking videotaping with Michelle Bennett and Elizabeth W. Davis. Both of whom are technology specialists in their schools as well as librarians. From what I could gather from this video, the kindergarten students who are using iMovie are very eager to use it and to learn with it. This means that the teachers are doing an excellent job with instructing the students on how to use this tool. For me to be a great educator I believe I will have to become much more comfortable about using these types of tools such as iMovie.
In the video, " We All Become Learners," Dr. Strange converses once again with Michelle and Elizabeth. In this video the talk about how now a days, the students aren't the only learners and the teachers aren't the other teachers. Students have become much more active in their learning and they are participating much more with activities especially technology related. Teachers are constantly learning along side of their students and vise versa. For me to be a great educator, I will need to be able to listen to my students and learn from the way they learn.
In the video, " iPads in the Classroom," I can't believe how useful these tools can be for students and teachers alike. I had no idea how many different things students and teachers could accomplish on the iPad. It is truly amazing and exciting for me that eventually when I become a teacher I will be able to use these tools with my students. Although all of theses tools are wonderful, for me to truly help my students to the best of my ability I will need to expand my knowledge with these tools.
In the video, " Top 10 Reasons to Use Technology in Education," I could not agree more with these 10 reasons. To me using technology in the classroom would not only help the students but also help me the teacher. Giving me more time so I can accomplish more things which in turn would give me more time with the students and less grading papers. Also technology greatly helps students, its even proven from this video that they increase test scores and promote participation. All in all, education cannot continue or increase in this day an age without technology.
It is amazing how far technology has come since we were in elementary school. I am excited that technology is being used in the classroom because it is such a great resource. There are so many different educational apps and tools that can be used through technology. It is important for us educators to adapt and constantly be learning how to use new technology as it becomes available to us. I found a few errors in your post, but they can easily be fixed by carefully proofreading your posts before you publish. Other than that, I thought your post was great!
